Carbon is part of many of the things we make, use, eat, and throw away. In this Quest, you will explore how carbon connects to everyday life through fast fashion, technology, or food production.
You will work with other students to investigate one study area, share what you discover, and decide what you want to explore more deeply.

- How choices and innovations can reduce environmental impact

- Where is carbon hidden in the things we make, use, eat, and throw away?
- How do the ways products are made and used affect their carbon impact?
- What connections can we find between carbon, resources, energy, waste, and our everyday choices?
- Why might different ways of producing or using something have different environmental impacts?
- What changes could people, communities, or companies make to reduce their impact?
How to Use this Quest
Choose a study area: Carbon and Fast Fashion, Carbon and Technology, or Carbon and Food Production.
Work with your study group and research partner to choose articles to investigate. Your research partner should read the same article so you can compare notes and discuss what you found.
Read independently and take notes about important ideas, connections, surprises, and questions. Then meet with your research partner to compare what you found.
Bring the most important ideas back to your study group. Compare findings, make connections between the different articles, and use the group’s combined findings to help decide what to investigate more deeply next.
