The Islamic Golden Age lasted from about 750 CE to 1300 CE. It was a time of major learning and cultural growth in regions under Islamic rule. Important centers included cities such as Baghdad, Cairo, and Cordoba.
Scholars studied science, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy. They translated texts from ancient Greece, India, and other regions into Arabic. Algebra was developed, and hospitals and libraries became important institutions.
This period took place under empires such as the Abbasids. Knowledge from this time later spread to Europe and other regions through trade and study.
