Han Dynasty ruled China from 206 BCE to 220 CE. It followed the Qin Dynasty and expanded China’s size and population. This period is often seen as a high point in early Chinese history.

Trade routes known as the Silk Road connected China to Central Asia and beyond. Paper was invented around 100 CE and became widely used. Confucian ideas guided government and education.

The Han period included advances in science, technology, and culture. Records from this time show detailed systems of government and daily life.
